Na jednoj od mojih omiljenij facebook stranica – The Ritman Library – nedavno se pojavio sledeći citat:
“At the centre of all things resides the sun. Could we find a better place in this most beautiful of all temples, from whence this light illuminates all things at once? Rightly is it called the lamp, the spirit, the ruler of the universe. For Hermes Trismegistus it is the invisible god, Sophocles’ Elektra calls it the all-seeing. Thus, the sun sits on its royal throne and guides its children, which circle it.”
Isti me je podsetio na ove mape, a i jedna od njih bila je postovana uz tekst. Mape sadržane u knjizii „Harmonia Macrocosmica“ odavno sam imala želju da predstavim ali mi se činilo da same po sebi ne bi bile dovoljne. Najzad, citat Nikole Kopernika odlično se uklopio. Tokom narednih objava pokušaću da dovršim predstavljanje svih mapa datih u atlasu.
Knjiga se sastoji od 29 mapa i zapravo je atlas zvezda koji je stvorio nemački kartograf Andreas Celarius, a štampao Johannes Janssonius 1660. u Amsterdamu. Grad u kome je knjiga štampana ne iznenađuje, s obzirom na tenziju katolika i protestanata toga doba, naročito u Nemačkoj, o čemu možete čitati u tekstu Ijana Vata „Protivreformacija„.
